Who this is for

Coaching for adults
who mean it

This section is for adult swimmers — masters competitors, regular lane swimmers and fitness athletes who want structured, coached progression. It sits separately from our triathlon and competitive programmes, which have their own specialist pathways built around race performance.

Whether you want private one-to-one sessions to fix specific technique issues, an early morning coached squad environment, or objective video feedback on your stroke — we have the right option. Start with what fits your schedule and goals.

For adults who take
their swimming seriously

Masters swimmers

Competing or training post-club — coaching designed for adult performance, not junior development pathways.

Lane regulars

You swim consistently but feel plateaued. We identify what's holding you back and put a plan in place to fix it.

Fitness swimmers

Using swimming for health, weight management or cross-training — structured coaching delivers real, measurable progression.

Adult improvers

Self-taught technique that's rough around the edges — one-to-one coaching is the fastest route to efficient, confident swimming.

Returning swimmers

Back in the pool after years away — we reset bad habits and rebuild your fitness properly, not just back to where you were.

Performance-focused adults

You train consistently and want structure, accountability and a coach who'll push you to the next level.

What to expect

What coaching
actually looks like

Every coaching relationship starts with an assessment session. Your coach watches you swim — noting catch mechanics, body position, breathing pattern, kick efficiency and turn technique. From that initial observation they identify two or three specific changes with the most impact on your swimming. Everything that follows is built around those priorities.

All coaches in our network hold current Swim England, ASA or STA Level 2 coaching accreditation as a minimum, and carry full DBS certification. Many hold Level 3 or above, with specialist backgrounds in competitive swimming, triathlon and open water. We vet every coach before they join the network.

Sessions progress logically. Early work targets technique — the fundamental changes that make every metre more efficient. As those patterns bed in, training shifts towards fitness and race-specific conditioning. If you have a target event, we periodise sessions around your competition calendar so you peak at the right time, not three weeks before it.

Most swimmers see measurable technique improvements within four to six sessions. Time improvements follow as the new movement patterns become automatic. The exact timeline varies — a swimmer with deeply ingrained habits takes longer to retrain than one who is newer to the sport — but progress is consistent when you commit to the process. We don't sell blocks of sessions you won't use; we build programmes around what you're actually trying to achieve.
