One-to-One Swim Coaching

Private sessions with full coach attention — technique correction, personalised training and honest feedback.

What we work on

Every stroke,
every length

One-to-one coaching covers the full technical picture — from stroke mechanics to race-specific skills, built around your events and goals.

Freestyle technique

Catch, high-elbow pull, body rotation, kick timing, breathing patterns — the full picture corrected at source, not just the obvious stuff.

Backstroke & butterfly

Building power, rhythm and timing in strokes that reward good mechanics above all others. Often neglected, always worth the work.

Breaststroke

Pull width, kick recovery and timing — the most technically demanding stroke done properly, not just efficiently enough to get by.

Turns & underwater

Tumble turns, open turns, breakout distance and push-off angle — the phases most adult swimmers undertrain and where real time is hidden.

Starts

Block entry, underwater dolphin kick and breakout — for masters competitors and performance-focused adult swimmers.

Training programme design

A structured plan built around your schedule, current fitness and target goals — not a generic template borrowed from a club programme.

Private coaching

The fastest way
to improve

One-to-one coaching gives you undivided coach attention from the first minute to the last. No group to wait for, no generic drills, no one-size-fits-all sets — every part of every session is focused on what you specifically need.

Most adult swimmers who come for 1:1 coaching have tried to fix a technique problem in a squad environment and haven't been able to. That's not a failure — it's what squad sessions are for. One-to-one is where specific corrections get made and locked in.

Who benefits

Adult swimmers
at every stage

Masters swimmers

Performance-focused adults competing or training post-club — individual coaching that matches your ambition and your schedule.

Swimmers with ingrained faults

Years of self-taught technique holding you back. One-to-one is the most effective way to break habits that group coaching can't touch.

Fitness swimmers

Swimming for health or cross-training — want to move more efficiently and get more training effect from every session.

Returning swimmers

Back after years away — we reset bad habits and rebuild your fitness in the right order, not just back to where you were.

Plateaued lane swimmers

Swimming regularly but going nowhere. A fresh set of expert eyes on your stroke changes the situation quickly.

New to lane swimming

Comfortable in water but stepping into a lane environment for the first time — we build confidence and technique together.

Getting started

From enquiry
to faster swimming

Enquire

Tell us about your level, your schedule and what you're working towards. We'll confirm whether 1:1 is the right fit and what to expect from the first session.

Stroke assessment

Your first session is a full stroke assessment. The coach watches you swim across all events, asks questions and identifies the two or three changes with the biggest impact.

Personalised plan

Based on the assessment, we build a coaching programme around your goals — weekly or bi-weekly sessions with clear targets and a logical progression.

Ongoing coaching

Every session builds on the last. We track progress, update the plan as you improve and keep raising the standard so you never plateau again.

FAQ · One-to-One

Common
questions

Most swimmers see the best results with weekly or bi-weekly sessions. Between sessions you should be swimming independently — coaching accelerates progress, but consistent volume matters too. We'll advise on the right frequency based on your goals and availability.

Technique changes can be felt within a single session — but consistent, locked-in improvement typically takes four to eight weeks of regular work. Swimmers with deeply ingrained habits may take a little longer. We'll set realistic expectations from the start and track progress so you can see it clearly.

You should be comfortable swimming 200m+ continuously in a lane without stopping. We're not a beginners' swimming lessons service — there are better options for that. If you're not quite at that point yet, get in touch and we'll point you in the right direction first.

Absolutely — in fact, most of our 1:1 clients are regular swimmers. More time in the water without correcting technique often just reinforces the habits holding you back. One-to-one coaching is precisely where consistent swimmers get the breakthrough that independent training can't deliver.
